REPENTANCE
Allah says ” And O Believers turn towards God in repentance, so that you may attain bliss”.
( Surah Al Nur 24:31)
Rasulullah PBUH said, ” The one who repents from sin is like one without sin, and if God loves a servant, sin does not adhere to him”.
Then he recited, ” Verily God loves those who turn unto Him ( in repentance ) and He loves those who purify themselves”. ( Surah Al Baqarah 2:222)
It was asked, ” O Messenger of Allah, what is the sign of repentance?”
He replied, ” Remorse”.
The Messenger PBUH is reported to have said, ” There is nothing more loved by Allah than the youth who repents.”
Repentance is to return from what is blameworthy in the law of Islam to what is praiseworthy in it.
The Prophet SAW said, ” Remorse is an act of repentance.”
There are three conditions of repentance which must be present in order that it be sound:
1. Remorse for the violations that have been committed
2. Immediate abandonment of the lapse
3. Firm resolve not to return to similar acts of disobedience.”
When a man abandons major sins,
Loosens from his heart the bond of persistence,
And firmly intends not to return to sin,
at that moment true remorse comes to his heart.
He regrets what he has done
and reproaches himself for the repugnant acts he has committed.
Then his repentance is complete
His striving is true and his exchanges the comradeship of the evil companions he previously kept for isolation and for detestation to them.
He works day and night in sorrow
and he embraces sincerity of regret in all his states
Erasing by the flood of his tears the traces of his stumbling
and treats the wounds of his sins with the goodness of his repentance
….. DU’A………..
O Allah, please take me while I am in repentance
or take me while I’m doing honorable deeds
or take me while I’m in fear of You
or take me while I’m longing for You
Please take me while You are pleased with me
Do not take me while I’m in Your wrath
O Lord, I’m Your servant
who is in need of guidance
Please guide me to the right path
O Lord, while the other people are seeking for the world
Let the world seeks for me instead
I will subject it to preconditions
If it is willing, I will accept
If it refuses, I will simply dismiss it

HISTORY OF HAJJ
Hajj pilgrimage is reminding us
The illustrative history of sacrifice
A truly sincere sacrifice
A pure sacrifice with great importance
For the sake of Allah, Prophet Ibrahim slaughtered his son
For the sake of Allah, Prophet Ismail gave up his life
The history also tells us
In relation to the sacrifice
For the sake of Allah, Siti Hajar accepted to be left alone
all out of obedience towards her husband
She lived in the Forbidden Land
while her husband visited her only once a year
In a valley with no cultivation
yet, she totally surrendered to Allah
When Prophet Ismail was borne,
she was again tested
Her nursing milk was all dried up
Siti Hajar went out searching for water
From one end of the valley to another
Running between Sofa and Marwah
For a few times
Ouch! her heart was beating anxiously
She had nothing to feed her baby with
But her faith remained steadfast towards Allah
She felt thoroughly assured
Surprisingly, during the search
Water sprang out of the earth
It was a blessing from the kicks
of her son's legs, the future Prophet
She collected the water feeling truly grateful
while reciting the words Zam-zam, Zam-zam
Hence the water named Zam-zam
which continues to exist till today
That was a Prophet's miracle from the blessed wife
Have we really learn?
The lessons from this story
To love Allah and upholding His religion
Sacrifice is a necessity
Obedience, patience and surrender
The attributes we need within us
Love for Allah
To be demonstrated through sacrifice

O ALLAH
In this blessed day & night I pray for myself, family & you.
O Allah, I ask You for Your love and the love of those who love You, and for the action that will cause me to attain Your love, O Allah, make Your love more beloved to me than myself, my family
O Allah, place light in my heart, and place light in my hearing, and place light in my seeing, and place light beneath me, and place light above me, and light on my right, and light on my left, and place light behind me, and make the light greater for me.
O Allah, by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation, keep me alive so long as You know that living is good for me and cause me to die when You know that death is better for me.
O Allah, cause me to fear You in secret and in public. I ask You to make me true in speech in times of pleasure and of anger. I ask You to make me moderate in times of wealth and poverty. And I ask You for everlasting delight and joy that will never cease. I ask You to make me pleased with that which You have decreed and for an easy life after death. I ask You for the sweetness of looking upon Your face and a longing to meet You in a manner that does not entail a calamity that will bring about harm or a trial that will cause deviation. O Allah, beautify us with the adornment of faith and make us among those who guide and are rightly guided
My Lord, Allah, I seek refuge with You from the evil that I have produced & the evil of the which is yet to come.
O Allah! I seek refuge in You against the declining of Your Favours, passing of safety, the suddenness of Your punishment and all that which displeases You
O Allah, I seek refuge with You from cowardice, miserliness and from being sent back to a feeble age; and, seek refuge with You from the trials of this life and those of the grave
O Allah, make my religion easy for me by virtue of which my affairs are protected, set right for me my world where my life exists, make good for me my Hereafter which is my resort to which I have to return, and make my life prone to perform all types of good, and make death a comfort for me from every evil
O Allah! Thy mercy is what I hope for. Do not abandon me to myself for an instant, but put all my affairs in good order for me. There is no god but Thou.
O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You have created me and I am Your slave and I am keeping my promise and covenant to You as much as I can. I seek refuge with You from the evil of what I do. I acknowledge Your blessing and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for there is none who can forgive sin except You.
YA Rahman Ya Raheem Ya Hayy Ya Qayyum!
My Lord, assist us & do not assist those against us, Support us & do not support those opposing us.
My Lord, Plan for us the path to success & do not assist those who plot against us.
Ya Rabb, facilitate Guidance for us & help us against our enemies & do not give aid our opposition.
Ya Allah help me to be grateful to You, mindful of You, fearful of You, obedient to You, Humbled to You; supplicating & penitent to You.
Ya Allah accept my repentance, wash away my sins and answer my prayers & plea & guide my heart to You.
Ya Rabb correct my tongue & push rancour out of my heart ya Rabb!
O Allah! I ask you of all good of what I have done and what I have not done in this world and in the Hereafter. I seek refuge in you from the evil of what I have done and what I have not done in this world and in the Hereafter.
O Allah! I ask of you all good that your servant and Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) used to ask of you. I seek refuge in you from all evil that your servant and Prophet Muhammad used to seek refuge in you from.
O Allah! I ask you for Paradise and what brings me nearer to it of deeds and sayings. I seek refuge in You from Hell-Fire and what brings me near to it of deeds and sayings. I ask you for the good consequences of Your Decree
Ya Allah You are the Pardoner & You Love to Pardon Your creation Ya Allah Pardon & Forgive me!

THE TRUE FAST
Rasulullah pbuh has said
Many people who fast
There is no reward for them
Except for hunger and thirst
This reminder must be kept
So that our fast
Will not be impaired and become useless
Even though all the terms and conditions are met
Then, Rasulullah further said
Telling us
To perform plenty of worship in Ramadhan
The rewards are special indeed
It is the month where sins are forgiven
Also the month where invocations are granted
Compiled are good deeds within her
Paradise awaits longingly for those who glorify Ramadhan
For the people who appreciate
The blessed month of Ramadhan
Its arrival is welcomed wholeheartedly
Its departure is mourned deeply
These are the traditions of the Pious people ( Solehin)
Whom we should emulate
Their fasting are effective within their souls
Building up their honorable character

THE WISDOM OF MY EXISTENCE
O Allah
I am created from earth..
A low down soil, trampled upon by all,
hurled upon with all sorts of despicable filth, dirt and garbage.
People step on it and do various things on it.
The earth is aware of its stigma
and yet it is able to accept its condemnation no matter what.
One can do whatever with it, it will gladly accept without any objections.
The earth can accept whatever is done unto it.
Step on the soil, it is all right.
Throw whatever on the soil, it does not matter.
"Do whatever to me, I will accept with pleasure"
The way the earth will respond if it can voice its feelings in words.
Pour water on the soil, it will dissipate all of it into its body.
Water symbolizes Blessings and Grace,
the soil gladly accepts without any question.
The excess water is extremely useful for other things.
It can be used as drinking water for God's creations
as well as for cleansing purposes.
Being pleased with whatever, the soil flourished well with all the water and garbage thrown upon it
Being fertile, farmers grow vegetables on the soil
beneficial to many beings
Farmers graze animals on the soil which in turn become an agricultural produce for the nation
People develop many things on it, people build homes on it,
the earth simply accepts
Because of its humbleness, many beings and mortals profit from it
The earth is a blessing to all God's creations
O Allah
Thus, the existence of earth, its character which is eternally humble.
It will accept whatever is given or done upon it.
the end result, it has abundant benefits for many creatures and human beings
O Allah
You create me from earth, I am a low life
as my existence originates from a low life soil
Please retain my character and attributes like the earth.
Let me be humble just like the earth.
If people wish to gossip and humiliate me
let me be someone who is able to accept
I am pleased with all the humiliations
as I am naturally a low life, befitting my existence
O Allah
Please make me a person who is able to serve other human beings
Befitting my origin from earth
which abundantly serves human beings, Your creations.
Please make me a person who is able to serve other human beings.
With my knowledge, my thoughts, my energy, my wealth, my forgiveness, my love and affection, my smile, my hospitality, my tolerance...
O Allah
Please retain within me the character and attributes of earth till the end of my life
From earth I come, to be like earth I shall eternally remain,
to earth I shall return,
please accept me as You pleased.

KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT GUIDANCE
When knowledge is given
Without guidance
Even if there is guidance, it is incomplete
Human beings may succeed to become clever and competent people
They are developed in various aspects of life
Their living facilities are very comfortable indeed
Their material civilization are awesome
However, with the progress, there is jealousy
With luxury, kindness is missing
Human beings become arrogant, haughty and selfish
Human beings tend to show off, seeking for name and glamor
Humanity is ruined, tolerance is destroyed
Society becomes very individualistic
Crimes occur day in day out
Fraternity disappears, love and care is ruined
Finally, with progress and development, life is full of fear
With civilization, fear and anxiety invading daily
In the end, human beings lose their happiness
Therefore, knowledge should be simple, guidance must be perfect
If knowledge is abundant, while guidance is complete, that is the most favorable
At this present time, while searching for knowledge, guidance is neglected
As a result, many human beings appear to be very intelligent
But their personal character, more like animals and satan
Or the least, the way they live are liken to the trees in the forest.
ABU AJWAD
Before bedtime
15-07-2001
None of God's creations
go to waste. Everything has a reason, everything has its usefulness,
everything has its purpose. Leaving up to all human beings to search for
its reasons, usefulness and its wisdom God laid down the earth and
created everything in it not for simply for human beings to live,
reproduce and making use of all the wealth He provides. What's important
is for us to witness and observe physically His creations. These are
the vital and solid proof of His existence and one of the reasons as
well, why God created the universe. Human beings are capable of looking
at not only the world of syahadah or physical world but various other
worlds as well. World is an indication or signs of God's existence.
Everything that God creates is considered as world or alam, anything
besides God is world or alam. There are only two existence either God,
the Creator or His creations (alam/world). The world exists indicating
there is God,the Creator. Majority of human beings simply look but not
really seeing anything. Even though they manage to look at pysical
things, they are not able to relate the world with God. Their sight could
access only the first level. They are not able to to see or understand
the wisdom of God's creations. Their views are somehow overshadowed or
restricted, like a beautiful painting, they are engrossed and
overwhelmingly praising its beauty and wanting to be its owner but it
did not cross their mind to find out who's the painter. Another similar
situation when one is served with good and tasty meal, one feels like
eating up the whole serving and it did not cross the mind who's the
person capable of cooking the delicious meal. Human beings, in actual
fact are able to see things through: 1. With the normal eye sight 2.
With the 'eyes' of the mind - intellectual mind 3. With the 'eyes' of
the heart or soul - spiritual mind Seldom there exists in any individual
these three 'visions'. If someone sees the deep and thick forest, what
he sees with his eyes are what he would describe, a thick ,lush green
forest, a beautiful scenery. If he sees with his intelectual mind, he
would be see the timber and various types of wood which could generate
wealth. If he sees with his spiritual mind, he would be able to see the
Greatness and Supremacy of God and all the wisdom associated with the
creations of the forest. Deep in his heart he would sense the Greatness
of God. If someone looks at the ocean, physically what he sees is the
vast and wide colection of blue water together with the high waves
continuously thumping the beach or coastline. If he looks with his
intellectual mind, he would see the fish inside the ocean, ready to be
caught for immediate sale to the customers. If he looks with his
spiritual mind, he would see and feel the Supremacy of God and His
wisdom in creating the wide and deep ocean where not a single human
being would know the various secrets hidden at the base of the ocean.
One would then feel how tiny/dwarf he is towards God. Those looking at
the face of the earth, what he would see would be the earth, pebbles,
stones and rocks. Those looking with their intellectual minds would be
able to see richness of the earth consisting of the oil, gold, diamonds
and various types of minerals hidden inside and right into the center of
the earth Those looking with their spiritual minds would be able to see
the actions of God the All Mighty who has laid down the earth for all
the human beings to live and devote themselves to God. Deep in their
heart they would feel how kind and merciful God is. Even so, most human
beings are heartless and what they see are the benefits giving them the
worldly pleasures, fulfilling their desires. They are inspired by the
worldly values attached to each of God's creations. They are unable to
relate God behind each of His creations. The existence of the world is
not bringing them to God. They are unable to see and feel with their
heart as they are heartless, their soul are dead, unable to function as
it should. They are not inspired towards the Hereafter and Heaven.
Neither is there fear of Hell and God seems to have no role in their
lives. They could not feel the existence of God and even if they know
God exists, it's simply a knowledge, not a belief or faith. Hence, God
is not a priority, there is no godly feeling in their hearts and they're
unable to feel they are God's servants.

WHY ARE OUR PRAYERS ARE NOT ANSWERED?
One day a Sufi saint Ibrahim Adham was passing through the bazaar in
the city of Basra when he was surrounded by people who said to him: "O
Ibrahim! Allah (SWT) has stated in the Noble Qur'an that: "Call on Me;
I will answer your (Prayer)"; we call upon Allah (SWT) but our prayer
is not answered.
Ibrahim
Adham said: "The reason is because your hearts have died due to ten
things so that your supplications have no sincerity as your hearts are
not pure and free of contamination."
They asked: "What are those ten issues?" Ibrahim Adham replied:
01: First and foremost you have accepted Allah (SWT) but have not repaid His claim.
02: You have recited the Noble Qur'an but have not practiced it.
03: You profess your love of the Holy Prophet of Islam (saw), but are opposed to his Household (as).
04: You claim to have enmity with Shaitan (Satan) but in practice you are in agreement with him.
05: You say that you are fond of heaven but in order to enter heaven you have not done anything.
06: You said that you were afraid of the Hell Fire, but have thrown your bodies in to it.
07: You were busy slandering and criticizing people but were ignorant of your own shortcomings and faults.
08: You said that you didn't like the world but are greedily following it.
09: You confess to the reality of death but don't prepare yourself for it.
10: You have buried the dead but haven't taken a lesson or guidance from it.
These are the 10 practices (Ten Reasons) which cause prayers to remain unanswered.
"Prayer is not a spare wheel that you pull out when YOU ARE IN
TROUBLE, It is a steering wheel that keeps you on the right path
throughout your life."

FOOD FOR THOUGHTS
Rumi's answer to questions asked by a disciple -
What is Poison?
He answered - Anything which is more than our necessity is Poison. It may be Power, Wealth, Hunger, Ego, Greed, Laziness, Love, Ambition, Hate or anything
What is Fear.....?
Non acceptance of uncertainty.
If we accept that uncertainty, it becomes adventure...!
What is Envy ?
Non acceptance of good in others
If we accept that good, it becomes inspiration...!
What is Anger?
Non acceptance of things which are beyond our control.
If we accept, it becomes tolerance...!
What is Hatred?
Non acceptance of person as he is.
If we accept person unconditionally, it becomes love...!

GOD WORKS IN STRANGE WAYS
We when think of God's actions, we feel that they are strange
We do not know the meanings behind them
But we are certain, all His actions must have purpose and lessons intended
We are just unable to reveal His secrets
Let us have a look at some of His work
They truly are strange and unique
When Allah Taala is wrathful with someone
That person is compelled to be cruel to others
So that he becomes treacherous and sinful;
When God loves someone, that person is victimised by others
So he is rewarded in his hardship, his sins eradicated;
Thus, someone who seeks sustenance without God's blessing
Is gaining profit under God's wrath
But part of this sustenance is channelled to a person with taqwa
The person on the receiving end is rewarded, for he is grateful to Allah
Strange, isn't it, that the one who gives is punished, while the one who receives is rewarded
Now let us turn to another example:
When God is displeased with someone, the person is compelled to be abusive
But when God loves someone, that person is allowed to be abused
Why does God permit those He is displeased with to disturb others?
Whereas those He loves are left to be disturbed by others?
God works in ways that are strange to us
If we do not understand them, we would blame Him
God is the Almighty, He does not make mistakes
